Meet your Therapist

Carisa Marinucci, M.S., LMFT

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I am passionate about my clients’ journeys in their therapeutic process and understand that each journey is unique and deserves the time needed to grow, heal, and thrive. I work to provide an environment that is safe, compassionate, and encouraging to assist in the changes you desire in your life. I am here to be present and listen, not to judge.

I am trauma-informed and trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing); some experiences are endured for survival and yet those experiences also prohibit us from emotionally and psychologically surviving to live a connected life. I want to help you rebuild a foundation of support so that your process of healing feels attainable and easier to navigate. I am also trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) which can assist in identifying patterns that can interfere in our ability to connect with others on a deeper level. Although EFT is the gold standard for couples and family therapy, EFT can also assist in individual therapy by exploring underlying attachments that inform how one connects with others in relationships.

If EMDR or EFT is not what you're looking for, that's okay! I take an integrative approach with each client; ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems or Parts Therapy), and Polyvagal Theory are some of the other models of therapy I integrate into the process. It is important to discuss your treatment with your therapist (whether you decide to move forward in working with me or not). You are your biggest advocate in determining what is working and what isn't; what works for some may not work with others and not one size fits all.
